There are a few things any woman that is considering getting pregnant should conisder.I've been reading about that for a while because I myself am one of those hoping to get pregnant soon, and I can summarize what I've learned in a few points.
First thing, pay your dentist a visit. It is important although not clear what is the relation between pregnancy and teeth. Many things you cannot do to your teeth during pregnancy. So if for any reason your teeth hurts you during pregnancy there might be nothing to do about it until you deliver or even for some while more if you choose to breastfeed. When I visited my dentist yesterday I was surprised to find my teeth far from what I expected. It actually might need sometime for treatment, I need to go several times more. So first thing go to your dentist for a checkup.
Second thing, check your current weight. If you feel you are over weight maybe you want to loose some before getting pregnant because most probably you'll end up with more weight on. Also extra weight is not helpful in case you endup having to deliver via a C-Section for any reason, extra weight then might not be very safe.
Third, visit your doctor and ask about what examinations you need to go through before getting pregnant. Like a blood tests whi
ch checks for many things like anemia, and tests for calcium levels and bone status. Also get your doctor to prescrible any supplements you might need to start take like calcium or Iron depending on your status.
Ofcourse, you need to stop smoking or being in a place where there are smokers. Stop drinking alcohol, coffee and anything else your doctor recommends that you stop. You need to get used to not drinking and eating many things before you are pregnant.
Now, after you're done with the previous steps and you are trying to conceive keep in mind many things. During the first 3 months normally you might be very very tired and it's normal so try to learn about places and people you can get help on food. Here (EGYPT-Cairo) we have people preparing deliscous food in their homes and selling it at reasonable prices. If you can find such people then it'll be great and actually you might need them after deliver too. Avoid eating fast food because it'll just add more weight to you and it's not healthy.
Also, if you have already another kid around maybe you want to start looking for some sort of daycare or nursery or preschool so the little kid can attend after you deliver to avoid staying with 2 kids at the same time.
This is in short the most important things you need to do. There might be other things but I think these are the most import things.
