Breast Implant Sizes: How to Choose

One critical choice in breast augmentation has to do with the patient's choice in breast implant size. Over the years it has been one of the most difficult choices for women going through breast implant surgery.

The intriguing mystery over breast implant size choice has been with the industry since it's beginning. Doctors approach the subject with a wide variety of perspectives.

1) Some doctors will talk to their patients in terms of what "cup size" they want to have

2) Other doctors refuse to discuss cup size, but will only quote breast implant sizes

3) Still other doctors refuse to let the patient have input on the subject at all.

I talked with one plastic surgeon who only offers the patient 3 options: Big, Bigger, and Biggest. Based on how the patient responds, the doctor makes her big, bigger, or biggest. I've read some other doctors who refuse to discuss breast size at all with the
patient in the breast augmentation consultation. They will ask the patient to have faith in him, since after their years of experience they feel they know what is best and prettiest.

These approaches to breast implant sizes are all very different, ranging from high patient interaction all the way to purely a doctor's choice. Thankfully, breast implant sizers now allow the patient to feel and experience the impacts of various breast implant sizes she wants. This option actually satisfies all of the doctors noted above.

Whether you are considering 400cc breast implants, 500cc breast implants or 600cc breast implants, you can use breast implant sizing systems to try on various breast sizes before your final implant choice. With breast implant sizers you can meet with your surgeon and say, "I want to have a breast size that will make me look similar to this." This method actually answers all of the approaches described above and will help you plastic surgeon decide how best to satisfy your request.
